Possibility of life outside our earth.

Hey! Now that's something interesting, and something that is left unto your imagination until you probably don't spot a lethal arsenal of extraterrestrial life ready to colonize our planet. There is a reason as to why I am not calling them aliens. If you try hard and ask a random person to draw a rough sketch of an alien, they'll be up in minutes, their picture describing an odious and bizarre creature. People have to believe that, in case life existed beyond our planet, they could probably also be so good and peaceful creatures.

There is almost no other discipline that triggers such a consistent and reliable reaction in public sentiment. This phenomenon is not limited to Indians.

Extraterrestrial life, is life that does not originate from Earth. These as-yet-hypothetical life forms may range from simple bacteria-like organisms to beings with civilizations far more advanced than humanity. Although many scientists expect extraterrestrial life to exist, there is no strong evidence for its existence so far. The science of extraterrestrial life is known as exobiology.

At the moment, life on Earth is the only known life in the universe, but there are compelling arguments to suggest we are not alone. Indeed, most astrophysicists accept a high probability of there being life elsewhere in the universe, if not on other planets or on moons within our own solar system. To declare that Earth must be the only planet in the cosmos with life would be inappropriate of us.

There are so many crores of life forms on our own planet, many of which we yet have not discovered. I think we just have so many, that we have gotten bored of what all we have. It is not that aliens are things meant for cartoons. There are several leading space agencies scanning the space with a clean eye. Mostly, I feel that aliens, if they existed, won't really require things we require for survival. I think so because, there are not really many resources essential for life on other planets. For example:

  • Water [ in liquid state ]
  • Perfect temperatures [ neither too hot nor too cold ]
  • Right combination of chemicals required for life
If life can persist in such conditions, even without these important substances, it surely has to be a very different form of life, and independent of their environment. This gives them the ability to thrive in very harsh conditions, just like chemo-synthetic plants 😜.
There is no conclusive evidence of any life beyond Earth, but there is hope.

Stay tuned! Who knows what may happen next?
